When Jordan reached out to me and asked if I would photograph her wedding, I was ecstatic to hear from an old high school friend and was thrilled to say yes! When COVID inevitably forced a date change, unfortunately I was no longer available. Two months out, Jordan's date suddenly became free. I reached out to let Jordan know, just to see what was possible... and Jordan and Deshaun said "We definitely want you!" And thank goodness they did, because this was a wedding like no other, and not one I would have ever wanted to miss!

The moment Jordan and Deshaun found The Bower Estate, they fell in love. When we scouted the property together prior to the wedding, it was raining heavily but a beautiful cloudy mist covered the mountains. "Even if rains like this on your wedding day, it's going to be absolutely amazing," I remember saying to Jordan at the time.

And what do you know - it did rain on Jordan and Deshaun's magical day - but it made for some seriously beautiful photos. The couple tied the knot in an intimate outdoor ceremony surrounded by the Queensland hinterland, with their ringbearer puppy Kora nearly stealing the show, before taking cover in a fairy-lit tent that can only be described as magical.

FAVOURITE MOMENTS FROM THE DAY

"We loved the entire day! Even the moments of sprinkling rain. Having all of our closest friends and family together was a pretty overwhelming feeling. There was so much love and happiness amongst everyone, and that’s the most special memory for us. We spent the day with everyone we love so much and who loves us. My uncle walking me down the aisle was such a special moment I’ll never forget."

However, it may have been Jordan's dress that was the true star of the show - a blush custom Begitta gown with a slit to die for, and fairy-like veil wings that fit Jordan's whimsical vision perfectly.

THE BRIDAL STYLE

"I always knew that our bridal party style would be made up of natural colors. I love unique pieces so getting a custom couture dress made by Begitta was the perfect choice. My bridesmaids wore cream coloured Shona Joy dresses, and the boys had tailored stone colour suits. I would say our overall style was natural and effortless. We had fresh, natural makeup looks by Alex Ouston and simple hairstyles by The Hair Therapist."

THE RECEPTION SET-UP

"Our wedding style was natural, effortless, and unrefined. It was made up of earthy, neutral colour tones and was set amongst endless lush greenery and fairy lights. We had a family-style banquet and a beautiful caravan bar for everyone to enjoy. Our wedding had the most magical feel. It was filled with timeless selections that I know we’ll be obsessed with forever!"

ARE YOU HAPPY WITH YOUR WEDDING PHOTOS?

"The photos are honestly incredible Elise! So happy with them, I can't pick my favourites.

I love the blurry ones. They're exactly what I wanted. And I just looked through our reception photos again. I really need to print and send them to people. They're honestly the best. I love how many people you captured.

I'm beyond happy that you got to do it! It was meant to be."
