From laughing the whole way through their ceremony and even cancelling their first dance in the moment to just dance with everyone instead, Jess and Kyle's biggest inspiration for their wedding day was just to have fun. They weren't fussed on having the prettiest table settings or the most expensive venue - they just wanted to have fun with their loved ones... and that's exactly what they did!

Their love story started when Jess and Kyle first met in grade 8. Time went on and when they were 20, Kyle slid into Jess' DMs and the rest is history. After Kyle proposed at Hastings Point and "winged the whole thing in typical Kyle style", the couple set about planning their perfect day. While Kyle got ready at his family home (and had a few bevvies with his dad and the boys at Craig's Bar) , Jess and her bridesmaids sprayed champagne in a hotel suite at Surfers Paradise. They exchanged vows at Parkwood Village Weddings (and really did laugh the entire way through), followed by bridal portraits and a reception party all at the same venue.

Leading up to the day, Jess had mentioned that although the venue was on a golf course, she wasn't after the typical golf course photos. Mel, the lovely coordinator at Parkwood, lent me a golf buggy for the afternoon to drive out and scout out some more 'rugged' locations - and I'm pretty stoked with what we found! Enjoy!

What led you to decide on your wedding venue?

"We wanted somewhere that had a laidback atmosphere, great staff and a great backdrop for photos, and we fell in love with Parkwood as soon as we met Mel. I kept saying to Elise that even though the venue is on a golf course, I don't want the typical golf course photos and she nailed it!"

How was your experience working with me?

"The experience leading up to the wedding with Elise was seamless and just easy! Every question was answered and we felt so assured that Elise knew exactly what our vision was for our photos. I was so excited on the wedding day for Elise to get to our apartment because I knew she would just bring this electric and fun energy to our day, and she did exactly that! The whole bridal party loved Elise and felt so comfortable around her and I think that is such such an important thing to have on your wedding day as everyone can be themselves which shows so well in our photos! Our favourite thing about the photos is just the happiness in the photos. It really shows how fun and laid back our day was.  It captures our personality and loved ones perfectly. We absolutely loved seeing family & friends after the wedding and everyone kept saying ‘OMG, your photographer was amazing’, ‘Your photos are so good’ and ‘We need Elise to be our photographer’ - there is no better compliment! Elise honestly was just like another member of the bridal party."

Did COVID impact your wedding?

"We were thankfully one of the lucky couples that were not impacted by COVID. We booked our venue and suppliers ‘pre-COVID’ and somehow had very minor restrictions in place for our wedding day. We are so thankful for that!"

What was your favourite moment of the day?

"Oh gosh, I think the weather was one of my favourite things. We finally got our overcast day! hahaha. I have so many! Getting ready photos with the girls, the moments with my bridesmaids before walking down the aisle, walking into the reception as a married couple... but our favourite moment was definitely the bridal party photos. It was the best 2 hours - I would love to do it all over again!"
